I was in a panic in the grocery store one night, running late for a dinner party (ahem, that I was hosting!). Intrigued by the unique shape of this bottle, I picked up a couple to go with a few little pre-dinner snacks. The next morning, I went back to the store and bought everything they had (don’t be so shocked, sadly it was only 6 bottles.. I swear, I don’t have a problem!).
WOW! Incredible value for money here! I paid about €4,50 for the bottle, and couldn’t really ask for more at that price!
So, what does it taste like??
Jean Valestrel Côtes de Provence AOC “Cuvée Prestige” 2014
Pale coral pink in the glass, this bright, refreshing rosé is elegant and prettily aromatic. Red raspberries, cranberries, and mandarin oranges with a hint of spice give way to a lively but balanced palate. A soft mouthfeel that is crisp and dry, with just enough fruit to satisfy, leads into a clean finish. While I love this wine on its own, on a patio, it would also pair beautifully with grilled fish, soft cheeses, and light summer salads. Drink now, or wait ‘til you’re at the beach!
