The Wine Wankers
This is one of the best wine blogs on the web. Two Sydney based “Aussie” guys Conrad and Drew take us through their daily explorations in wine with a fun twist rather than a boring write-up. The content on their social media platforms is so varied that it feels like five different sites in one. A wine wanker is, “Somebody who drinks wine pretentiously in the company of others to show off their knowledge and try to make other people feel inferior.”
Conrad and Drew consider themselves the “anti wine wanker brigade” making wine more accessible by taking the pretentiousness out of wine and it shows in the number of followers who are hungry with good wine information without the pretention. The Wine Wankers are globally one of the highest rated wine blogs, with a large international following of over 425,000 people across their social media platforms.
Since 2012, Amy has taken us with her as she travels throughout the California wine regions and we are better because of it. We love her blog because she is tireless in bringing her followers the latest and greatest in all things wine tastings, events, and new finds all the while balancing two children proving that you can be a single mom with two kids and drink lots of wine. Cheers to that! She leads a weekly twitter chat called #siponthisjuice which happens every Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:30 pm PST #sonomachat @sonomachat
The Social Vignerons
Wine maker Julien Miguel started his wine blog two years ago. His web site and social media channels have it all in an easy to read and understand playful mix of content. It is basically a one-stop shop for all things wine. From posts on wine and food pairings to wine reviews, wine travel, events and wine region information. It has it all. http://socialvignerons.com
Reverse Wine Snob
Since 2011, Jon Thorson has been maximizing our wine dollars. He brings us fun down to earth wine content and wine review of wines from around the world and lives by his motto, “Thumbing your nose at bottles over $20!” Get wine suggestions from around the world all at under $20!
If you want to be taken away to a better place through the power of photos, you must follow John Corcoran’s Facebook and Instagram feeds. The photos of all things wine and wine country are gorgeous, plain and simple. John has a keen eye and brings to life things that we might miss by not looking closer. His photos make us stop and think. The photos also remind us to plan our next trip to Napa and Sonoma – stat!
As the Wine Columnist for The Oregonian newspaper and the author of the “Complete Wine Selector: How to Choose Wine Right Every Time,” Katherine’s writing will leave you wanting more. Her Instagram feed shows in no uncertain terms that you can travel the wine world, drink lots of good wine and raising two children – not a small feat!
Special mention – Favorite Wine Instagram:
When Mike Madrigale is not pouring wine for his customers at Boulud or Boulud Sud in NYC, he is snapping photos of his favorite bottles set against the backdrop of New Yorkers walking by his restaurants. His recent posts from his trip to Columbia are simply an advertisement of booking the next trip out of winter to South America.
